Prepping for Candidate Forum

Richard Conover, a well-known local businessman, musician, and community leader, announced his next campaign fundraiser for Collier County Commission, District 3, featuring Deb and the Dynamics, May 6th at Z’s Music Kitchen in Naples.

The announcement comes ahead of the highly anticipated candidate forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters, Collier Citizens Council, Greater Naples Leadership, Naples Chamber of Commerce, NABOR, and Naples Better Government. The forum is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at the Commissioner Chambers, 3299 Tamiami Trail East, Suite 303. Open to the public and televised on Collier Television CTV, this event marks a pivotal moment in the local election season.

Business Acumen

As the owner of a successful insurance agency and a figurehead in the SWFL music scene, Conover brings a unique blend of business acumen and community engagement to the race. Known affectionately as “the Wolf” for his musical endeavors, Conover’s story of resilience and commitment to Collier County shines through his personal and professional life.

“I’m not just running for office; I’m stepping up for the community that has supported me through thick and thin,” said Conover. “With over a decade of service and entrepreneurship in Collier County, I understand the challenges our residents face. Conover’s platform addresses critical issues facing District 3, including:

• the preservation of property rights,
• the improvement of transportation systems

• County approval for building of Charter Schools.

A staunch opponent of the rezoning practices that have contributed to traffic and congestion, Conover pledges to uphold the County Growth Management Plan and prioritize roadway projects to make commutes safer and more efficient. Additionally, he advocates for closing loopholes that allow for unchecked charter school development in residential areas.

“Our community deserves a commissioner who will fight for their interests, not just the interests of developers or special interest groups,” Conover asserted. “I pledge to bring transparency, integrity, and accountability to the office, ensuring that our growth is sustainable and benefits all residents.”
