Special Announcement From an Independant

In an unprecedented show of community support, Richard Conover, the independent candidate for Collier County Commission District 3, rocked the vote at Z’s Music Kitchen on April 8th.

Conover, known affectionately as “the Wolf” on the local music scene, and his band, the American Bulldogs, joined forces with the Rewind Band and the Robert Holifield Band to host the most successful Rock the Vote event to date.

Conover, an insurance agency owner and the only one-armed Bass guitarist in Southwest Florida, is not just a local music legend but also a committed community advocate. “I’ve lived and served in Collier County since 2007, dedicating myself to not just building successful businesses but also to making our community a better place for all,” Conover shared.

His campaign focuses on three critical issues:

  • property rights, transportation
  • quality of life
  • a strong stance against the rezoning of residential lands for commercial use.

At the heart of Conover’s campaign is his dedication to upholding the integrity of Collier County’s Growth Management Plan.

Traffic At The Heart of the Problem

“The reckless rezoning of residential lands to commercial and high-density use has led to unprecedented traffic and congestion. It’s time to put an end to this practice,” Conover stated firmly.

His commitment to safe streets and improving transportation infrastructure aims to alleviate traffic congestion and ensure safer commutes for county residents.

The success of the Rock the Vote event underscores the community’s desire for an independent voice in the County Commission.

From Supporters

Supporters like Rick Peters, a local boat captain, expressed their concerns about unchecked development. “It’s not too late to do something about this,” Peters remarked, echoing the sentiment of many attendees. First-time supporters Gerry and Kimber Valentin and John and Angie Duncan praised Conover for his stance against rezoning and his vision for an independent and vibrant Collier County.

“This county needs a leader who understands the value of community and is willing to fight for it,” Conover said, reflecting on the event. “As your County Commissioner, I pledge to be that leader.”

His approach to governance is shaped by his diverse background as a businessman, musician, and community advocate, promising a fresh perspective to the commission.

The stakes in this election are high, with Conover facing off against seasoned politicians like Burt Saunders, who has spent over 40 years in various political offices. Conover’s non-partisan, issue-focused campaign offers a clear choice for voters looking for an independent voice to represent their interests in District 3.

Upcoming Event

Looking ahead, the next Rock the Vote event is scheduled for April 23rd at the Nauti Parrot Oasis, featuring performances by the Flora Band, the American Bulldogs, and Sick Violet. Conover invites all residents of Collier County to join him in making their voices heard and taking a stand for the future of Collier County.

“Together, we can make a difference. I’m not just asking for your vote; I’m asking you to join me in a movement to protect our community and ensure a bright future for Collier County,” Conover concluded.
